Jewelweed for poison ivy is the number one remedy for the pain and itch of poison ivy. Jewelweed soap made with fresh jewelweed, and other healing soaps made with witch hazel and aloe vera are just some of the poison ivy and rash soap that Kim's Soap & Such make.  Most of these herbs and plants are grown by us and harvested in order to bring you the most purest and medicinal soap possible.  The active ingredients in these soaps are long lasting having a shelf life of up to at least one year.  So if you plan on hiking, camping or just enjoying the outdoors, take these soaps with you just in case! Echinacea Sage Soap- Echinacea is an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and cell normalizer, it is active against staphylococcus aureus, and streptococcus.  Sage is known for its antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

Jewelweed SoapJewelweed is best known for its skin healing properties. The leaves and the juice from the stem of Jewelweed are used to dry up and heal poison ivy and other plant induced rashes, as well as many other types of dermatitis. Jewelweed works by counter-reacting with the chemicals in other plants that cause irritation. Soap, sprays and salves are used for  cuts, eczema, insect bites, sores, sprains, warts, and ringworm.

Witch Hazel  The properties of the leaves and bark are similar, astringent, tonic, sedative, and a good pain-killer for bruises and inflammatory swellings, In cases of bites of insects and mosquitoes Witch Hazel will soon cause the pain and swelling to subside.

Calming Calamine   Calamine is a preparation belonging to a class of medicines called the anti-pruritics, which are used to relieve itching.  Itching can be caused by physical irritation or chemical changes in the skin caused by disease, allergy, inflammation, side-effects of drugs, or reaction to irritant substances. It is a common symptom of skin disorders, e.g. eczema, and infection with lice or worms. Calamine can be used in the form of a cream, lotion or soap. It is used for its cooling and soothing effect on the skin for symptomatic relief of itching. It also contains the active ingredient zinc oxide, which has antiseptic properties and helps prevent infection from scratching.

Aloe Vera Nettle Soap  Aloe vera is a special healing plant - kind to sunburned skin and soothing to the skin.  Aloe gel is taken directly from the leaves.  Nettle leaves are known for treating joint pain, sprains and strains, tendonitis, and insect bites. In fact, some small but well designed studies are beginning to confirm that certain traditional uses have scientific validity, particularly osteoarthritis.

Camphor Clary Sage  This is quite effective in arresting the itch caused by insect bites, and poison ivy outbreaks.  Camphor is a white crystalline substance distilled from the leaves, twigs and branches of the Cinnamomum camphora tree.  Camphor oil numbs the peripheral sensory nerves and is mildly antiseptic.  Clary sage oil treats skin irritation by acting as a drying agent and reducing swelling. 

Goldenseal Soap   Goldenseal is a healer that attacks the bacteria, viruses and fungi that cause contagious illness.  The chief active constituents include the alkaloids berberine, hydrastine, and canadine.

Tea Tree Oil Soap   Tea tree oil is an essential oil extracted by steam distillation from the leaves of a tree native to Australia.  This oil is used in treating skin irritations and penetrates easily while working against bacteria, fungi, yeasts and viruses.  This soap is helpful in treating wounds and preventing illness, and is also used for athlete's foot and deodorant soap.
